PathLab achieved international standard accreditation in 2006 (HOKLAS ISO15189). Accreditation involves assessments by third-party professionals, and in our case, pathologists, scientists, and medical technologists from the Hospital Authority, Department of Health, etc. The international standard assesses compliance for quality and competence. PathLab is accredited in many disciplines, including Chemical Pathology, Hematology, Molecular Genetics, Immunology, Virus Serology, and Clinical Microbiology & Infection.
The ISO 15189 standard provides a framework for our laboratory to plan and operate our laboratory service efficiently:
To continuously refine our processes to enhance our service to our clients and their patients.
To develop staff who have the knowledge, skills, and values to practice clinical laboratory science competently.
To foster a working environment that builds personal responsibility coordinated by teamwork and strengthened by trust and open communication through all levels of the organization.
To demonstrate sound moral principles in daily activities, thus earning the trust of our clients and their patients.
